I want to be riding in 2018!

Southwest light rail transit (LRT) is the next light rail line in a regional transit system (see maps) that will make this region more affordable and competitive for the 21st century.

Construction could begin in 2014 and open in 2018, but only if it gains state bonding support. That’s why we need your help.

The 15-mile Southwest LRT would serve the rapidly growing southwest metro, connecting Minneapolis to Eden Prairie through St. Louis Park, Hopkins, and Minnetonka (see maps). The Southwest line would connect with the Central Corridor line (on schedule to open in spring 2014) and the Hiawatha line, giving residents across the metro the ability to reach many major employers and universities.
